THE FROGS USE THEIR POST (CLICK HERE) TO SCHEDULE & ORGANIZE EVENTS.
This page will give you all the generic rules of events, but the post is where you find upcoming events.

LEVEL TO HAVE TO JOIN AN EVENT

We always give an indicative level for an event.
Now you can join the fun with a higher level character but grouping may not be possible.
You can also join with a lower level but be warned that you GONNA DIE.
If you have more than one character in the Guild, please select the one nearest to the level range given for the event.

GUILD EVENT:

Event with the main characters of the Guild.
We try to find a place where both high-level (30-40) and low-level (20-30) groups can have fun.
Please register before, whether you can make it or not.

NEWBEE EVENT:

Event with the newly created characters of the Guild.
We try to find a place where both high-level (13-20) and low-level (7-12) groups can have fun.
Please register before, whether you can make it or not

TAVERN EVENT:

Event with all the Guild.
Let's have a drink in one more Tavern in Norrath. Let's meet new members. Have some fun. Take pictures. Then go hunt around something fun depending who showed up.

It's a non-rules event: no rules, no pre-registering.
Just a place and time to meet and have a good time.

GROSBILL EVENT:

Me not underzdant rooles. Me not underzdant events. But Kild fun me luv.
Me luv bashing tu.
U kom wiv Ogre, Droll or Parparianz wiv level like tu or zree hantz.
Ve bash ve kil.
Zoin ur nekzt event!
[Oki the grosbills are the Ogres, Trolls and Barbarians of the Guild who go bashing together, the target level is the average of those (currently around 15)]

It's a non-rules event (Gros tried to write rules but never got them right, maybe learning how to write may help but that is already to clever for an ogre to get): no rules, no pre-registering.

Objectives and Rules of Guild and Newbees Events

Objective of a Guild Event is to give the opportunity to a maximum of Guild members to play and have fun together at a specific time and place, even if they are at different levels and in different time zones. Building consistent groups permits to play with more than 6 members in a fun and yet xp productive way. It is also a good opportunity to meet new members, exchange items with fellow members that have a better use of it, show tricks to newbees, and drink! Also because a Guild Event usually will get most of the Guild members to bind in a new location, it's a good opportunity to move the Guild HeadQuarter (yes one day we will do one in Kunark).

We expect to run something like one Guild Event a month. Usually on Saturdays 13H EST (Quebec) and on Wednesdays 20H EST (Quebec).

During a Guild Event a number of groups will be created, ensuring consistency of levels and caster/healer/tank in each group. But all groups will hunt the same zone and everyone will communicate through Guild chat so that groups can help each others in many ways (splitting spawns, buffing, intervention if something goes wrong, ...).

During a Guild Event there is no personal loot. All loots are made by a few dedicated individuals (pre-appointed by Guild officers at the beginning of the event, usually the Officers themselves), then loots of all groups are put together at the end of the event. Then a fair split is made. Each object is given to the Guild member to whom it makes the most sense by decision of the Guild officers, ensuring each participant is rewarded for. Members designated to loot will have to take note of their inventory at the start of the Event so that they can easily track at the end what was won during the Event and thus belongs to the Guild.

During a Guild Event there is no personal Quest unless pre-approved. It may happen that you have a Quest to do in the location of the Event. If so state it in your e-mail (see below) and the Officers may decide that fulfilling the Quest is part of the Event. You then get help from everyone (cool). However if you do not announce your Quest in advance or if Officers do not approve the Quest, then you should not pursue it during the Event. Anyway since all the Guild will be bound in the area after the Event, you should have no problem fulfilling your Quest after the Event.

Now the Guild usually will have one or more specific interests in a Guild Event, like getting some specific drops from some special NPC. This are called the Guild Quests of the Event. It is expected that all participants will try to help fulfilling the Quests, and bring back all expected loot.

As part of the Guild Event preparation, it is expected that participants will do their best to gather all possible information (maps, monsters, NPC, loots, quests...) relevant to the location of the Guild Event, and send those (see below) to the Guild Officers a week before the Event. They are very welcome to propose to the Guild Officers some interestning Guild Quests.

As you understand the purpose of these rules is that Guild Fun and Guild Benefits is the key for Guild Events. Not personal benefits (although you will win xp hopefully).

Participating in a Guild Event is a commitment to be made a week in advance by each member. Participation is not mandatory (hey anyone can take a week-end off), but it is expected that if you plan to be on-line on a Guild Event date, then you should join the Event. If not please note that the Guild chat is RESERVED for the Event during the duration of the Event. Anyone not participating in the Event should not use the chat (only exception: to answer a personal question from a Guild officer - like "what the hell are you doing, just come and join the Event!!!").

A week before the Event, e-mail e-mail the guild whether you will participate or not. Guild officers will then organize groups and communicate back to you.

The Guild event starts right on time from a pre-designed meeting point (a point easy to find and access even for low levels, not far from the Event). The groups are formed there and all the participants move together to the Event location. That helps low level by giving them buff and protection to reach the Event. Anyone joining late has to get to the Event location by its own means.

You have to be fully EVENT-READY at the time of the start of the Event.
That means:
- All your SHOPPING (buying, selling...) is DONE.
- You are already BOUND at the city or place from which it is easiest for you to reach the event location. So if you die you can get back to the Event fast.
- You are at the MEETING POINT fully rested, full mana, buffed, etc ... right ON TIME.
- You have at least 3 hours blocked in your agenda.

It may happen that a specific Event needs additional preparation. Like getting keys to get in specific rooms. A week before the Officers will decide whether to do that preparation before or during the Event. Should the decision is to do it before it will be communicated by e-mail to all participants having registered. If so members are expected to do their best in the week before to help with the preparation.

Should a participant die during the Event, it is not mandatory for him to get back to the Event, although we expect members not to quit the Event before having been killed at least twice. Should the "dead" wants to get back, it is expected that he or she will get back to the Event location zone by its own means. So choose your bind wisely. As an exception to the Guild Charter article on mandatory help for corpse retrieval, Events participants are not requested to get out of the Event zone for corpse retrieval help for the duration of the Event. Now once the Event is finished, if a member still doesn't have corpse, on-line members should definitively help by all means. Although not mandatory, it is recommended that if someone dies, some members of his group should meet him at Event zone entrance when he is back there. Hopefully, with the number of Guild members in the Event zone, corpse retrieval should not be too difficult from there. Should a "dead" member decide not to get back to the Event, he can consent fellow participants to loot his corpse. However this looting will take place at the end of the Event only.

Zoning, trains, corpse, camping and other stuff... There are obviously many advantages of invading a zone with a lot of members. The objective is to use them all to our benefit. Hence the following is expected from participants:
- To post on the Guild chat any real-time meaningful info you have (for example: "Zone entrance safe", "Train at Zone", "Major NPC re-spawning", "participant linkdead", "corpse at Loc XXX", ...).
- To clearly announce on the Guild chat when leaving an on-going fight ("zoning", "Gating", ...), so that other groups do not inherit from your trains.
- To fast-check what/how other groups are doing before pulling more, some group may need your help/heal before...
- To buff or fight-assist (if you can safely) any other member requesting help, even in an other group.
- To multi-group camp the major NPC in order to break spawns. And then to take turn with the respawn parts so that everyone has time to rest and meditate (very effective against a spawn of high-level + low-level monsters, the high-level group takes the big ones, etc..).

Getting to the Meeting Point. You are expected to be at the meeting point on due time by your own means. Obviously all Guild members (participants or not in the Event) are expected to help porting/biding the remote members that do not have personal port/bind capabilities to reach some place where they can finish their travel safely by foot. However you cannot expect some last minute help so participants are strongly advised to get their porting/binding done way in advance. As a reminder, the Guild HeadQuarters will officially be moved to a city near the meeting point one week before the Event. That should ensure you have fellow members in the area by that time and thus a good reason to port early.

Quitting it. Although members should have reserved their time and are not expected to quit during the Event, we recognize that there may be real-life emergencies (I have 4 more kids in real-life). Should a member has to quit, it is expected that he will give a five minutes warning before quitting so that groups can be reorganized if needed. And he should give all loots to a fellow member staying. Should the quitter needs to go elsewhere to camp, he has to go by his owns means, other members are not expected to escort him. Anyone quitting before the end loses any right on loot sharing. However at loot sharing time, Officers may decide to allow a share depending on circumstances (like someone went linkdead unwillingly and couldn't log back, or REAL real-life panic, or he really helped killing half of the area before quitting...). Should someone unwillingly disappear with portion of the loot (linkdead), he his expected to e-mail ASAP the Officers to arrange a meeting for the loot to be given back to the Guild.

Finishing it. The decision to END the Event can only be taken by a Guild Officer. Usually if we run out of time, got the items we were looking for, or run out of alive members (hehe). There will be a clear warning on the Guild chat. From there all participants have five minutes to zone and wait at zone entrance for the others. It is expected that all members will wait the five minutes. This in order to ensure we get all newbees out and can escort them to safe place. Then the whole Guild will move back together to Meeting Point, where loot sharing, rewards (if any), promotions... are conducted, and then the Event is officially ended by the Officers. Members that can stay on longer are obviously expected to keep playing together, however the Events rules do not apply any more, and the Charter rules apply instead.

We will take newbees or under-level characters in Events. It is every member's responsibility to protect them. All the rules of the Events are also here to ensure that protection. Consequently we will enforce that failure to follow the Guild Event rules may drop a member out of the Guild.

Last note valid for all events: Please note that EVERYONE is ALWAYS welcome to ANY events.

Now we all know events have a certain level of difficulty and we try to estimate that level to help members but these are always indicative and you can always join an event.
